TUGCE TARI-ROTH
Her highly imaginative performing style translates to the stage as distinctly charismatic, vibrant and passionate while her frankness and sincerity creates a deep connection with the audience. Mrs. Tari-Roth has performed in Europe and in the USA in solo and chamber music concerts. Her performances included a solo recital at the 26th Istanbul Music Festival, several command performances at the request of the Turkish Ambassador and his distinguished guests in Washington D.C., a command performance for the Royal Navy and the US Navy at the request of the Queen of England, and an improvisational performance at the Bimhuis Concert Hall in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Mrs. Tari-Roth participated in numerous international music festivals, winning several awards including the 1st prize in the 26th Istanbul Music Festival Competition.
Her live performances and interviews were broadcast multiple times in Cologne, Germany, and on Turkish National Television (TRT). She was featured in Turkish National newsletters and magazines such as Cumhuriyet, Milliyet, Şalom and Adalar as well as regional newspapers in Germany.
Besides her performing career, Tuğçe Tari-Roth is a highly demanded piano teacher. Dr. Carol Prochazka - the former Co-Chair of the Piano and Theory department at the Peabody Preparatory of the Johns Hopkins University - described her teaching style as consistently excellent as well as incredibly dynamic, energetic and creative. She had built her first piano teaching studio at the age of 14, was assigned to teach undergraduate students at the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, served as Artist-in-Residence and directed the Jacksonville Steinway Piano Academy in Jacksonville, Florida. Her students have been winners of competitions and scholarship recipients and has been accepted into great universities such as Harvard, Yale, Wesleyen School of Arts, Auburn and Florida State University.
Mrs. Tari-Roth has a Bachelor’s of Music degree from Istanbul University State Conservatory in Istanbul/Turkey, a Master’s of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland/USA. She has continued her studies at the Ecole Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris/France with Hüseyin Sermet. Her primary teachers were Prof. Dr. Tuvana Alton and Boris Slutsky and has had masterclasses with the world’s foremost pianists such as Leon Fleisher, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Vladimir Feltsman, Alexander Korsantia, Leontina Margulis to name a few.
Mrs. Tari-Roth divides her time between her family, performing and teaching privately as well as via FaceTime. She is a devoted ‘Ambassador of Music’ for amateur music enthusiasts. She is currently working on bringing the highest quality online courses for busy professionals over the age of 40, who always had a passion and desire to learn to play the piano. She lives in Düsseldorf, Germany.
